My experience with Video Counsel has calmed these fears. The Data in the field is that face to face via Skype or other Video Counsel had no significant difference than traditional therapy. The greatest fear as a Provider is not being able to create a working alliance, rapport or therapeutic relations with my clients. One article that studied the working alliance in online sessions found that, “No significant difference in the level of working alliance were found within the online therapy sample with respect to modality of communication, client presenting problem, or therapist”. 1 (Working Alliance in Online Therapy as Face to Face Therapy: Preliminary Results by Jonathan E. Cook M.S., and Coral Doyle, Ph. D.)

I have been a client of Walter Swinhoe for a decade or more. Walter’s traditional use of his knowledge in Pastoral Counseling combined with Pastoral Care helped me and my family to overcome very difficult issues from addiction to creating defined roles and boundaries for us. Walter’s use of Spiritual Counsel has made me a better husband, father, and friend. More than that, he has restored my Faith and brought me closer to my God.
